The Terroir and the Vineyard

Throughout the year, the vineyard is maintained to the highest standards using sustainable practices. The family is involved in every stage of the process, from winemaking to marketing their product—from planting to bottling.
The terroir of CHATEAU des MARRES consists of sandy-clay-schist soils formed from the weathering of the Maures Mountains. The proximity of the sea acts as a thermal and hygrometric buffer, limiting extreme heat and excessive dryness.
The climatic conditions here are exceptional.
Sustainable viticulture is practiced here. Bud thinning is performed in May, followed by destemming in mid-July, with the aim of ensuring yields and quality worthy of the Côtes de Provence AOC designation.
